Lettered sizing, smallest to largest. If you sit between two sizes on a boxy or oversized cut, take the smaller one; on a slim cut, take the larger.
The number is the waist in inches. Where a style also carries a leg length you will see it written as waist × inseam, so 32×30 means a 32-inch waist with a 30-inch inside leg.
Age bands are a starting point, not a promise about a particular child. Where a listing gives chest and length measurements, measure a garment your child already wears well and compare against those numbers.
